Useful Information for 7-O 2019-2020

Welcome to 7-O - the sharks - at Oregon Middle School

If your child is going to be late or absent from school please report the absence by calling the attendance line prior to 7:45 a.m., whenever possible. The OMS Attendance Line is available 24 hours a day.  If a child is absent and not called-in by the end of 2nd period (9:28 a.m.), the OMS Office will attempt to verify the absence by contacting a student’s parent/guardian and/or emergency contacts if a parent/guardian cannot be reached.
ATTENDANCE LINE:  608-835-4000
    • Dial 1 to access the main attendance line
    • Select school by dialing "5" for OMS
    • Select grade by dialing - “1” for 7th-grade students OR “2” for 8th-grade students
    • Leave a message and then hang up

When calling the Attendance Line, state your child’s first and last name, date of absence, and reason for absence such as illness or doctor’s appointment.  Include your name and where you can be reached should we need to contact you.
If you need to reach your student during the school day, please contact the office with student messages NO LATER THAN 2:15 p.m.  We cannot guarantee messages received after 2:15 p.m. will reach your student by the end of the day.
When a family knows in advance that a student will be absent for 2 or more consecutive days, the family should complete the Pre-Absence Form located below.  Parents need to fill out the top portion of the form. Students must take the form to each teacher so that make-up work can be assigned.  Once completed the form must be turned into the OMS Main Office to document the absence.

We are in need of adult chaperones to travel and observe each team - you do not lead it - please let Pernille Ripp know if you would like more information!  Contact her at
Schools of Hope:
Please contact the office for more information on how to become a tutor at OMS.  We are always looking for great adults to work with our students.

Please reach out at any time to help us meet the needs of your learner.  We are easily available via email, phone calls will be returned as soon as we can.
Infinite Campus is also a great place to check in on work.
Official conferences are in November and in March/April.
