Mrs. Ripp's Crazy Reading List

It is no lie that I love to read, in fact, as my students know it is one of my biggest ultimate pleasures.  So it was no surprise to them when I showed them a picture of the reading pile next to my bed waiting for me; it's huge to say the least and it keeps growing.

So with no fanfare, here are the books I will be relaxing with this summer:

  • Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick
  • The Lions of Little Rock by Kristin Levine
  • I'm Nothing Special by Geoff Herbach
  • I'm With Stupid by Geoff Herbach
  • Eragon by Christopher Paolini
  • Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos
  • The Water Castle by Megan Frazer Blakemore
  • Radio Road by Jake Henderson
  • I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
  • The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde (His first children's book - his adult books are some of my favorites!)
  • Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
  • As Easy as Falling Off the Face of the Earth by Lynne Rae Perkins
  • The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt
  • Savvy by Ingrid Law
  • The Encyclopedia of Me by Karen Rivers
  • I, Emma Freke by Elizabeth Atkinson
  • Den Iranske Gartner by Bjarne Reuter (Adult book)
  • I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
  • The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau
  • Marco Effekten by Jussi Adler-Olsen (Adult book)
  • Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (Adult book)
  • Moon Over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool
  • Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson
  • City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

So there you have it, a little slice of what I will be doing this summer.  And this list will only grow, I still have to go through my classroom library and see what gems I still need to read there.

And Off It Goes

Stopped by the post office today to mail a certain package to Ontario, Canada.  Now we keep our fingers crossed that the teapot and the mug make it there safely, I will post news when I hear something.

Reward Yourself for Reading

I know many of the students are reading lots of books this summer so now they can get rewarded.  Here is a list of various reward programs for the reading they are probably already doing.
I hope you are reading  - I know I am!
