Lifeboats in Science

We continue to work on variables and have started our lifeboats exploration wondering how many passengers (pennies) can our lifeboat (styrofoam cup) hold before it sinks.

Cool activity! Do you have scales? Comparing the weight of the Cup+Pennies just before it sinks should be very close to the weight of the cup filled with water. I really like Archimedes' Principle and not just because I get to use "Eureka!"
